New Year Wishes

Dear Friends of Global Orphan Outreach;
I wanted to take time to personally thank you for your continued support and prayers as we partner together to reach out to orphans and families in need in Africa. This past year has been a very trying year with many ups and downs. With God’s Grace we will continue to step out in faith as we extend compassion. I am reminded of the song – I Refuse- and in the lyrics he sings:

Sometimes I just want to close my eyes and act like everyone's alright, when I know they're not.
This world needs God, but it's easier to stand and watch.
I could say a prayer and just move on like nothing's wrong. But I refuse…
'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care. I don't want to say another empty prayer

To sit around and wait for someone else, To do what God has called me to do myself.
Oh, I could choose not to move but I refuse…
I can hear the least of these, crying out so desperately.
And I know we are the hands and feet Of You, God.
So, if you say move then It's time for me to follow through and do what I was made to do.
To stand and watch the weary and lost, cry out for help. I refuse to turn my back and try and act like all is well.
I refuse to stay unchanged or to wait another day, to die to myself.
I refuse to make one more excuse… cause I Refuse.

I hope that you will continue to stand with us as we refuse to wait for someone else to do what we are called to do. Let’s send the message of Love to them this Christmas and beyond into the coming year through encouragement, empowerment, and support.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We are BACK!!!

Global has had technology issues for the past several months. We are back on the blog! Our website is being updated too. So much has taken place this past year. Next posting I will update on that. In the mean time..Here are some awesome updates on the 4 boys we have here on medical visas. Three are ready to go back to Liberia. Two are going to be adopted as special needs children and be back in the states this coming year.

We are especially thankful for our host families who do a wonderful job caring for the children.

Baby Anthony turned two this past spring. Here was a baby boy who could only wimpier when we brought him here. After several surgeries and time..he is talking, rolling, and interacting beautifully with his host family. We foresee a long term stay for Anthony yet as he has a few more surgeries to go.

This is Melvin and his host mama. They are headed back to Liberia in December. Melvin is deaf and had several medical issues addressed while he was here. He is a candiate for coclear implants once he is an American citizen. It is an exciting journey for Melvin not only to have a new family but to be able to hear.

Brown has been in the states for some time and is now making his way back to Africa as soon as his passport has been cleared. His host families did wonders for him. He is being adopted into a family with more boys. What a blessing for Brown.

Chris is headed to Liberia in a few short weeks to return to his family. He had eye surgery and has had a wonderful stay in the states while he under went his treatments.

**Its important to note that GOO does not do adoptions. Once in awhile a hosted child qualifies for adoption and should a host family desire to adopt we refer them to Angel Haven Adoptions to discuss the case further.

Giving Hope a Home

Introducing….Cockapoos! We know everyone knows these adorable dogs have been a family favorite for several years. My friend Michelle has a wonderful Cocker spaniel named Abby. She is just sweet as can be. Abby has had a litter of cockapoos  who are all just as sweet as can be.

Michelle and her family have a heart for the children of Africa. So much so that they are adopting Hope, a little girl with special needs from our Forget-Me-Not Children’s homes in Liberia.

Michelle also does outreach ministry with her photography talents.
Here website is called Global Focus Photography-

One night left!!

Yesterday and today we had the privilege of hearing the Inspiring musical works of Eric Genius.

He plays with such passion that at times, he literally is lifted off his piano bench while playing. (I didn’t know that was possible) He is able to make music come to life through his finger tips. One of the songs he played called Angel in Disguise is a song written for his daughter who has special needs. You can feel the love and joy he has for his daughter in this song.

Vocalist –Holly’s voice was so moving and so powerful it gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. The cellist- Sofie, plays with a sorrowfulness and the beautiful sound that comes from her instrument could stand by itself.  Words are hard to find to describe how Lisle- the violinist is able to become one with her instrument as she plays. Beautiful notes coming from within her and played on her instrument.

Concert of Hope was a night of Inspiration, of encouragement, of HOPE. Eric’s music transcends any culture. It is a language that reaches out to people.  The message from his music was sent across the ocean to Liberia to the women and children there. The message- we care, we are here to help, and we are here to give hope.

Team with us to bring Eric Genius to your town and to your home so that together we can bring hope to many more children in Liberia. He is honored to be a part of this cause. Contact us today.

And don't forget that tomorrow night he is doing a free concert in Brooklyn Park, MN at the Park Center High School at 7pm. Address is  7300 Brooklyn Blvd. Come and bring all your friends, neighbors, and family to this night of Inspiration and Hope!

Welcome to Concert of Hope!

It started with a Diamond

I get asked from time to time why I felt the need to start Forget-Me-Not Children's Homes in Liberia. I tell them it started with a Diamond.

Diamond was a little boy with cp in Liberia who I had set out to adopt. Only he passed away from malaria before we could bring him home. I never thought of myself as someone who could parent a child of special needs. For reasons not known to me- I was being led to adopt him though. He was to be our Brice Diamond. His heart gave out after a battle with cerebral malaria.Like so many children in Liberia- he was abandoned- unwanted due to his special needs. So many children waiting for an opportunity to be loved like him. I may have never held him in my arms but I did in my heart. He is there still. And in every child I advocate to help like him.

This was a song I dedicated to him when he passed. I think it is befitting to all children abandoned and waiting still....

We All want to make our place in this world
We All want our voices to be heard
Everyone wants a chance to be someone
We all have dreams we need to dream
But sweeter than any star you can reach
Is when you reach and find youve found someone
You'll hold this world's most priceless thing
The greatest gift this life can bring
If you can look back and know
You were Loved.
You were loved by someone
Touched by someone
Held by someone
Meant something to someone
Loved somebody
Touched somebody's heart along the way
You can look back and say... You were loved!
You can have Diamonds in your hand
Have all the riches in the land
Without love do you really have anything
When someone cares that youre alive
When someone finds their world in your eyes
Then you'll know youve find all you need
Youll hold this world's most priceless prize
The sweetest treasure in this world
If you can look back and say... You were loved!
You were loved by someone
Touched by someone
Held by someone
Meant something to someone
Loved somebody
Touched somebodys heart along the way
You can look back and say...
You were Loved!

Doodles Helping Liberia's Children

Our adorable doodles are bought from families all over the U.S. What makes these puppies great family pets is their intelligence, little to no shedding, size, loyalty, and family friendly demeanor. I have been selling miniature golden doodles to help fund our programs in Liberia for 2 yrs. What a blessing it has been to help a family find the perfect pet and that family feel they have given back to children in need through their puppy purchase.

Help spread the word about our puppies-www.doodledoghill.com. And how they are helping so many children in need in Liberia- Africa. Thank you!

And watch our website for updates on upcoming litters as well.

In him..I am More Than Enough

How many of us can say this about ourselves? Our special needs children in our Forget Me Not Children's Homes know no different. In Christ they are more than enough- they are accepted- they are loved.

What can you give them?

Matthew 15:27
“Yes Lord”, she said- “but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

Everyone has extra to give… be compassion called and help us help them today.

Chris medical help is coming to an end...

This is little Chris Flomo who is here on a medical visa for his eyes. He has done very well and his stay in America is coming to an end. Soon I will be bringing Chris back to Liberia where he will return to his family. He has been a joy to have here says Michelle who is his host mom. She and many others will greatly miss him but be able to continue to stay in touch. Hopefully another child will come and get the same help- her name is Jema and we are working on her donated care. Keep her in your prayers.

Chris was showing off his new bike and helmet when i visited him.

And this is Doug who was very instrumental in helping with Chris's plane ticket to get here to America. Thank you Doug and Thank you Michelle and Brian and your family for hosting him. You are awesome!!!

If you are interested in helping us with hosting or funding of a Liberian child needing medical care here in the states, please contact us.

remember every mamma...

Today we take time to remember every mamma that doesn’t hold her child. Whether it is because her child has moved on in life, is out of country, sadly passed away, or because of her love for her child, was adopted into another family.
Today I hold 5 beautiful adopted kids because other mothers gave them an opportunity at life! Thank you! You may not hold them physically today but I hold you in my heart and together we parent these kids.
Happy Mother’s Day

I Refuse..

 Sometimes I
I just want to close my eyes
And act like everyone's alright
When I know they're not

 This world needs God
But it's easier to stand and watch
I could say a prayer and just move on
Like nothing's wrong

 But I refuse
'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I can hear the least of these
Crying out so desperately
And I know we are the hands and feet
Of You, oh God

 So, if You say move
It's time for me to follow through
And do what I was made to do
Show them who You are

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

To stand and watch the weary and lost
Cry out for help
I refuse to turn my back
And try and act like all is well

 I refuse to stay unchanged
To wait another day, to die to myself
I refuse to make one more excuse

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I refuse
I refuse

I refuse
I refuse

our little star fish

this week we lost yet another beautiful soul! Precious Baby David passed away in his foster home late Monday night. he died from untreated tb. (it was just discovered he had it)

so many children are gone. so many will still die. if they were children in your neighborhood would you notice? would you do something then?

know that every effort you do to reach out and help just one child matters....
regardless of when God calls them home.
