How is Nye?

Nye is here in the states on his medical visa. Here he is with Linda B. who escorted him home and some of the many others who helped in his process. Nye is scheduled to have a shunt put in this next month and have his hernia repaired. He is thriving and has settled in happily here. We will be so excited to see him be returned back to his Liberian momma when this is done.

More improvements

Little Matthew continues to improve daily and we hope for his release on Thursday where he will go into foster care. Matthew had to have a blood transfusion and that is why he wasnt released sooner. Dr. Sherman continues to take good care of him. Luckily Matthew had a wonderful family here in the states who stepped up to pay for his medical care and foster care.

Update on Matthew-Warning... shocking...

Here is an update on Matthew's situation. And I warn you the pictures are shocking. Matthew has wasted away to nothing. It was horrifying to receive these pictures of him from last week. I am told that he was in so much pain that all he could do was moan. Matthew is getting good medical care (what is available to him in Liberia) He IS responding to IV treatments and food. He IS scheduled for an assessment this week and surgery next week for his hernia. From there we will decide what to do next for him. The ministry of health is working very closely on his case as well.

Matthew

This little boy is Matthew who is in a orphanage in Liberia. Matthew has some serious medical issues and we are currently working on getting him help in the U.S. Matthew has gotten more malnourished since we last saw him. It truly is sad. He needs medical help for his large hernia and has a small case of spinal bifida we understand. The ministry of health and social welfare of Liberia is working with us to help poor Matthew. Please keep him in prayer. (we will post more pictures soon)

Little Nye is boarding a plane to the states today for his medical help- will post pics on him soon as well.
