Bring Hope to Matthew

Dear Family and Friends,

We are the Mazur family and we would like to share with you about a little boy named Matthew who is 3 yrs old and is in desperate need of help. Matthew is severely malnourished, had a large umbilical hernia, as well as having some undiagnosed health issues in his back. Matthew lives in Liberia-West Africa.

Global Orphan Outreach (www.globalorphanoutreach.org) was asked by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to work on obtaining a medical visa for him as well as a host family and that is where we come in. We have agreed to be Matthew’s host family in the USA while he receives his medical care. The Liberian government is willing to expedite Matthew’s case due to his dire needs.

We are excited to be able to serve in this way and can provide for Matthew’s care once he gets here but lack some of the immediate necessary funds for travel expenses. Won't you please help?

How can you help?

Please consider giving to Matthew’s fund today and help us bring Matthew here. Invest $10-$20!! This will go a long way in giving this special little boy the help and family he so needs right now. Your giving will truly change his life forever!

Matthew After Surgery

All money received will go to his travel expenses or medical care.

forget me not children's homes

Global Orphan Outreach is sponsoring special needs foster homes in Liberia. These homes will be for children of special needs with specific therapies and care. It also allows us to slowly take in children instead of being flooded with families who dont want to care for their kids. Another great advantage to this is that we can give women jobs that wouldn't otherwise have jobs by being a care giver specialist for children who are handicapped. This is not an easy project to take on and one that continues to evolve as we work with the ministry of health and social welfare. However these children are in desperate need of help and a home too.

Here are two of the children in our care presently. Hawa who is 2 and has cp and Dominic who is 15mos and has mild cp.

How is Nye?

Nye is here in the states on his medical visa. Here he is with Linda B. who escorted him home and some of the many others who helped in his process. Nye is scheduled to have a shunt put in this next month and have his hernia repaired. He is thriving and has settled in happily here. We will be so excited to see him be returned back to his Liberian momma when this is done.

More improvements

Little Matthew continues to improve daily and we hope for his release on Thursday where he will go into foster care. Matthew had to have a blood transfusion and that is why he wasnt released sooner. Dr. Sherman continues to take good care of him. Luckily Matthew had a wonderful family here in the states who stepped up to pay for his medical care and foster care.

Some Improvements...

Matthew continues to have improvements. He is at Firestone Hospital and was scheduled for surgery today but it was moved. Matthew is soon to have a new family as well. Details later as it unfolds. Mean time- we are getting ready to take in 2 more children into our special needs foster program. Waiting on pictures.

Update on Matthew-Warning... shocking...

Here is an update on Matthew's situation. And I warn you the pictures are shocking. Matthew has wasted away to nothing. It was horrifying to receive these pictures of him from last week. I am told that he was in so much pain that all he could do was moan. Matthew is getting good medical care (what is available to him in Liberia) He IS responding to IV treatments and food. He IS scheduled for an assessment this week and surgery next week for his hernia. From there we will decide what to do next for him. The ministry of health is working very closely on his case as well.

Matthew

This little boy is Matthew who is in a orphanage in Liberia. Matthew has some serious medical issues and we are currently working on getting him help in the U.S. Matthew has gotten more malnourished since we last saw him. It truly is sad. He needs medical help for his large hernia and has a small case of spinal bifida we understand. The ministry of health and social welfare of Liberia is working with us to help poor Matthew. Please keep him in prayer. (we will post more pictures soon)

Little Nye is boarding a plane to the states today for his medical help- will post pics on him soon as well.
