Thanksgiving Prayer

Mark 12:42-44

But a poor widow came and put in 2 very small copper coins worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said: “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all others. They gave out of wealth but she gave out of poverty, put in everything- all she had to live on.”

O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen.

Enough Said!

This little man is Anthony. He is the baby boy I brought here from Liberia back in May for surgery generously donated by MASS General. Because of circumstances beyond our control-It had been almost 6 months since I had last seen him. It was wonderful to be able to hold him again. To be able to take pictures and get updates. To be able to go to Liberia three weeks from now and share with his parents will truly be special. I am very much looking forward to this.

While we are a small grass roots organization, we take our commitments to our children, to the Liberian government, and to these children's parents very seriously.

Beautiful Boy Anthony. He now lives in Ohio and his medical care resumes there.

Anthony with his new host family-Marilyn.

Here we are traveling to Ohio. I had the full Boston experience. Took a plane to Boston and traveled in several taxis. Took a bus to the train station to rent a car to travel to Ohio and then fly back to Wisconsin. He is so worth it. All our children are that we are so privileged to be able to help.

Here we are in Anthony's hospital room the day before he checked out. Notice the beautiful sky line.

Awwwww...so sweet!

Marilyn is an experienced host mom who will enjoy her time serving in medical outreach and caring for Anthony till his return to his biological family.
