catching up with our boys

Because every child deserves a chance to live and lead a full life, we are involved in medical intervention of medically fragile children by bringing some of these children to the states for medical surgeries that are not available to them in Liberia. Once their treatments are complete, they return to their families in Liberia. Here is an update on the boys who are here.
Above is Brown who needed a double amputation. His host family is doing a wonderful job caring for his every need. He is currently working on walking with his new legs.

This is Barvor who needed help with his eye sight. Today he has glasses as he continues his treatments and is your typical boy- as seen here with the frog he caught. Barvor has several "brothers" to learn and play with in his host family. They love caring for him.

Little Nyenelleh was here a couple of years ago for a shunt placement. He has returned back to his host family for follow up care. A future doctor in the making? Perhaps. His awesome host family are in the medical field as well so I am sure the influence is there.

Our Melvin had a serious issue with his spleen and is also deaf. Today they have the spleen issue under control and he was just fitted for hearing aids in hopes that he will qualify for a cochlear implant down the road. In the mean time his host family takes him every where and he is loving every minute of it. Here he is learning to fish.

Baby Anthony had his shunt surgery is doing well we are told. We are still waiting for picture updates.

As you can see, our medical outreach program is an important aspect of what GOO does for children in Liberia and their desperate families. Should you be interested in hosting or helping in anyway with one of our child situations, feel free to contact us.

my how they have grown..

Remember the twins we put an S.O.S. out for this past spring? Their mamma passed away and they needed support fast. So many times we see one or both babies, when they are twins, die of malnourishment due to lack of milk. Thankfully a wonderful family came forward and is helping with the support and care of these children. The twins names: Harrison and Hattiley. They are so adorable and doing well. Thanks to their foster family as well who is doing a marvelous job caring for them.

I had opportunity in May to hold the both of them. What an armful! And to think I used to want twins being as I am a twin. This cured me fast!

And there they were as newborns.

We are asking all our GOO supporters and friends to pray specifically for our organization on Wednesday of this week. For we are just volunteers called to serve. We are under serious spiritual attack as we defend an injustice taking place. Please pray for protection, provision, and for God to prevail.

FMSC Partnership

Global Orphan Outreach is proud to announce their partnership with Feed My Starving Children. GOO will be feeding 400 foster children and their foster parents and school children- 1 meal a day for the next 14months. From there we intend to expand our program.

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and through partnerships like Global Orphan Outreach, ship the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world.

FMSC and GOO hold similar views that people can become involved in the world around them especially with helping the hungry. You need not travel to Africa to help those who are hungry there. FMSC is looking for volunteers to help pack the foods that are shipped. Go to their website and contact them- www.fmsc.org

GOO is also looking for volunteers to help us send the food to Liberia, Africa. We have half of the funds raised and still need your help to raise the other $2700.
